Florida Panthers Sign D Jassen Cullimore
Cullimore Assigned to Rochester for Conditioning Stint



SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin  announced today that the club has agreed to terms with D Jassen Cullimore on a one year deal. He has been assigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL) for a two week conditioning stint.

Cullimore, 34, has played in 643 National Hockey League games with Vancouver (1994-97), Montreal (1997-98), Tampa Bay (1998-2004) and Chicago (2005-06) registering 80 points (21-59-80), while recording 621 penalty minutes. The Simoce, Ontario native won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2003-04 campaign.

Last season, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound defenseman played in 65 games with the Chicago Blackhawks scoring one goal with six assists and 64 penalty minutes. This year played in three preseason games for the Detroit Red Wings. He was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their second choice (29th overall) in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
