Teddy Ruth Drafted 46th in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft
Former Captain of Eels Team Drafted by the Washington Capitals!
Great Day for Florida Hockey

The Eels Program is thrilled to announce that it’s former Captain of one the most successful teams in Florida Ice Hockey was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Ruth played for the Eels Bantam Team in 2003 when that team captured over 10 Tournaments and paved the way for the Eels Midget Elites Teams in the ensuing years.

Since then Teddy has played for the NTDP where he was Captain of the USA National U17 team and last year was a member of the Elite USA National U18 NTDP. Ruth is expected to attend Notre Dame this fall.

“Teddy no doubt is one of the best young defenseman  in the game today. He dominates the game in every respect. He owns the defensive zone when he is out there. He is very offensive minded and can take control of the game at any time. He is an extremely gifted skater and has great hands.” Said Eels Coach Frank Scarpaci.

“He simply leads the team in all respects. He is a phenomenal leader as well. On and off the ice. It was no surprise that he was selected Captain two years ago for the NTDP as he was with the Eels. He is a very bright young man. He will be a great player initially at Notre Dame and then for the Washington Capitals. It was an honor coaching this young man. We are thrilled to have had him play and train in Florida.”
