BILOXI, MS – The Mississippi Sea Wolves, ECHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, announced on Friday that they have added a game to their preseason schedule against the Central Hockey League’s Austin Ice Bats at the Chaparral Ice Center in Austin, Texas, on October 13, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.
“Adding a game against the Ice Bats is a great opportunity for both teams to get another quality opponent in the preseason,” said Sea Wolves head coach Steffon Walby. “It gives the players one more game to solidify a spot on the roster, as well as giving us a chance to show off the ECHL’s brand of hockey to the fans in Austin.”
"This is something I've always wanted to do," says Ice Bats coach Brent Hughes. "It gives us a chance to see how we add up against an ECHL team, and it's good for our players to see how they add up against players from the ECHL."
On Saturday, October 27th the Sea Wolves will celebrate their return to home ice as the team begins their 10th season in pursuit of the ECHL's Kelly Cup. Season tickets are now on sale and sponsorship packages are available by calling 228.275.WOLF (9653).
