CHARLOTTE, N.C. –The storied history of the Charlotte Checkers will be on display this season as the team will reveal a new logo, expansion of the relationship with AT&T Real Yellow Pages and other major announcements at a press conference at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
The Checkers’ new 15th Anniversary logo will be unveiled in conjunction with plans to incorporate the history of the team all season long. On hand will be the entire Checkers front office, coaching staff, players and the CheckMates.
Checkers CEO, Michael Kahn, said this press conference is a window into an electrifying season, “We plan on integrating the remarkable history of the Checkers throughout the year. Along with our new logo, some big announcements and a few surprises, we feel this year will be amongst the most exciting in Checkers history.”
The Checkers enter their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL in October 2007. In the team’s 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers will enter their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this fall.
