SOUTHAVEN, MS — The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League are welcoming a new member to their hockey operations staff. The team announced today the hiring of Thomas “T-Bone” Pomposello Jr as its new equipment manager.
Pomposello, 38, brings a wealth of hockey equipment experience to the RiverKings. He has been an equipment manager or assistant equipment manager in the AHL, ECHL, and UHL. He also was the director of hockey operations and the equipment manager for the Army hockey team at West Point for four seasons. Most recently, the Bronx, NY native served as equipment manager for the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
“I am looking forward to working for the RiverKings and making this area my home,” Pomposello said. “People have told me that Coach McClelland and I will be a good fit. We share similar personalities, demeanor and passion for hockey.”
This line of work is in Pomposello’s blood. His father, Thomas Sr, was an equipment manager in the NHL with the New York Rangers in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. Pomposello says he is a steel worker by trade, but loves working in hockey.
“I like the camaraderie hockey provides,” Pomposello said. “It is part of my life. With my father working in the NHL and me playing Junior ‘A’ hockey, it is my passion.”
Pompasello and his girlfriend Tracy have been together 12 years. They have a seven year-old son Cody.
Kacee Coberly, who filled the role of RiverKings equipment manager last season, is enrolled at Dodge City Community College in Kansas on an academic scholarship. He is also a pitcher on the school’s baseball team. |
