Alabama’s Brent Ullom Remembered
The University of Alabama & the ACHA regrets to announce the passing of Assistant Coach Brent Ullom. 
Brent passed while courageously battling cancer on Friday, January 26.

Brent grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where he started out his hockey career with the Arizona Sports Ranch Thunder roller hockey travel team.  After moving to Huntsville, AL, Coach Ullom started his ice hockey career with the Huntsville Travel East team specializing in defense. Brent hoped to help build a powerful hockey program. 
Ullom led the off-ice physical training and conditioning.  He will be sorely by missed by the entire University of Alabama program.

Photo to Memorialize Late Coach, Aid New Hospital

The photograph of the University of Alabama club hockey team that graced the cover of the January issue of Center Ice Magazine and was used in a feature article in USA Hockey Magazine and on the USA Hockey Web site will be used to raise money for St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in memory of the Crimson Tide assistant coach who died from cancer in late January.

The assistant was Brent Ullom. He was 25 years old.

The photograph, taken at the 50-yard line in Bryant-Denny Stadium by Center Ice Magazine publisher Don Olea, will be autographed by all the members of the Alabama hockey team and coaching staff.

Meredith Hardegree, one of the team’s Hockey Little Sisters, will raffle off the photo during the Tide’s two-game home series with Xavier University on Feb. 23 and 24.

All proceeds from the raffle will be given to the new St. Jude’s hospital in Huntsville.  p
