RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes today announced that the team has acquired center Jakub Petruzalek (YA-kuhb peh-troo-ZAL-ehk) from the New York Rangers along with a conditional pick in the 2008 Entry Draft in exchange for forward Brad Isbister.
Petruzalek, 21, is currently in his first professional season and has totaled two points (0g, 2a) in six games for Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL) and 10 points (1g, 9a) in seven games for Charlotte of the ECHL. The Litvinov, Czech Republic, native was New York's ninth round (266th overall) selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He tallied 34 goals and 60 assists (94 points) in 83 games with Ottawa and Barrie of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) between 2004 and 2006 prior to turning professional. |
